There is no need to remove a mole unless it bothers you. Also, if you feel like it affects your appearance and also you don’t like rubbing against your clothes, then you may want to remove it.

Not all moles need to be removed. You may want to consider removing the ones that have changed and bothering you in some other way. You must read the risks involved before removing it with medical scissors or with a mole cream.

Why Home Remedies for Mole Removing Are Riskier

If you cut off the skin growth with scissors or blade at home, it might not properly be sanitized, so leads towards severe infection. Also, most of the time it leaves a permanent scar on your skin. If the mole is cancerous or melanoma and tried cutting it off on your own then it could spread cancer throughout the whole body.

When to Consult Doctor

A dermatologist is the only best option when you want to remove your skin mole. They will first analyze whether or not it will spread cancer to your body. Also, you want to see your doctor if the mole has changed. The dermatologist uses most of the time two safe and result oriented methods for removing a mole from the skin:

mole surgery
  • Surgical Excision: The doctor first numbs the whole area around the mole and cuts it out from the bottom. After that doctor will stitch the wound
  • Surgical Shave: in this, the doctor will numb the whole area around the mole and then shave it with a surgical blade. There is no need to stitch the wound after the surgical shave
  • The Bottom Line

When to leave the mole on its own? When the mole is not changing nor even bothering is you, then the best thing you can do to leave it as it is. If you feel like it affects your appearance or irritates you in some other way, then you should go to your dermatologist instead of trying home remedies.

Yes, you should consult your doctor when the mole is changing or causing some pain. These could be a sign of cancer or melanoma. In that case, getting a mole removed might save your life.
